Theakston’s Crime Festival in Harrogate

Carolyn, Libby and I stayed in a hotel up the road from the event. We were treated by Avon to high tea at Betty’s on the Friday and a drinks event on the Saturday to commemorate the opening of an Agatha Christie exhibition. We attended a fabulous ‘New Blood’ presentation and spent the rest of the weekend in the tent socialising with crime readers and writers. I was thrilled to meet Val McDermid and James Runcie and to have my photograph taken with Howard Linskey, Paul Finch, Lucy V Hay, Rod Reynolds, Dave Sivers, Jeremy Vine, Lee Child and Mark Billingham. Bob Barker was roped in as photographer. The highlight was being photo bombed by Ian Rankin!
